How to get to Spetese island

By sea

From the main port of Piraeus, you can take a flying dolphin (hydrofoil) or flying cat (catamaran) both of which have regular and numerous departures each day. The journey takes approximately 2.00-2.30 hours depending on the number of stops along the way.

By road

From Central Greece or the Northern Peloponnese, and also from Athens airport, you travel towards the Corinth Canal and, after exiting the highway, take the left turn and continue towards Old Epidavros, Koliaki, Tracheia, Kranidi, Porto Heli and finally Kosta. From the Southern or Central Peloponnese, head towards Tripoli and Nafplion and then follow the road towards Ligourio, Tracheia, Kranidi, Porto Heli and Kosta. There are two car parks at Kosta where you can safely leave your car (charges are by the day)

From Kosta, which is only 1.5 nautical miles away from Spetses’ central harbour, Dapia, you take a short ride by ferry, water taxi or traditional wooden kaiki (kaikis only operate in the summer months).

Kosta to Spetses: 08.10, 10.30, 13.30 and 17.00
Spetses to Kosta: 07.20, 10.00, 13.30 and 16.30

Please note that private cars are not allowed on the island see the section on traffic restrictions.

Water Taxis

Water taxis take up to 8 passengers, are chartered on the spot and leave immediately.

During the summer months they operate until the early hours of the morning.

Kaiki

Kaikis depart Spetses harbour and Kosta as soon as they fill up with passengers. During the summer months their schedule lasts until the evening.
